One sunny afternoon, a little boy named Timmy was sitting in his classroom during math class. The teacher had just finished explaining how to solve long division problems and asked the students to practice on their own.

Timmy stared at his paper with a puzzled look. He couldn't figure out how to divide 357 by 7. Just as he was about to give up, his friend Sam leaned over and whispered, "Hey, Timmy! Let me help you."

Sam quickly jotted down the answer—51—but instead of showing Timmy how to solve it step-by-step, he said, "Just write this number and don’t ask questions!"

Timmy nodded gratefully and copied the answer. When the teacher collected everyone’s papers, she praised Timmy for getting the right answer. But when Timmy returned home that evening, he told his mom about what happened.

"Mom," Timmy said, "I didn’t really understand how to do it. I just wrote down what Sam gave me."

His mom smiled warmly and said, "That’s okay, Timmy. Let’s work through it together so you can learn for next time."

The next day in class, Timmy raised his hand and admitted, "I got the right answer yesterday, but I didn’t know how to get there."

The teacher laughed and replied, "Well, honesty is always the best policy. Now let’s go over it together!"

From then on, Timmy made sure to understand every problem, even if it meant asking more questions. And though he still sometimes struggled, he learned that learning wasn’t about rushing—it was about understanding.

And guess what? Sam eventually started paying attention too!

This simple story highlights the importance of understanding concepts rather than just memorizing answers, all wrapped up in a light-hearted way suitable for young learners.
